Good Day everyone! I just love the diversity of the 2015 Life Documented collection from Simple Stories.
When I first saw this collection I decided immediately to use it for a 2015 album to share my family's story.
I wanted to share with you today the album cover I created using various products from this fun collection.
I already had an American Crafts 12 x 12 D-ring chipboard album, so I decided to just customize the cover using products from the Life Documented collection.
The chipboard area to cover is larger than 12 x 12 and I wanted to use the "Hello New Year" paper on the cover.
In order to use this specific paper and preserve the look of this fun paper design, here are the steps I used:
- I cut out all the patterned sections first
- Using a sheet of white Bazzill cardstock, I figured out where to cut this sheet of paper knowing that I would be covering it with some layering of 4 x 6 cards.
- I adhered the white Bazzill cardstock to the chipboard album first using UHU glue stick.
- Following the original design pattern of the "Hello New Year" paper, I adhered the cut pieces to the outer edges of the album cover (as shown in the picture below). You will notice the area of the chipboard album not covered by the white cardstock or Hello New Year paper. This is where I layered other pieces from the collection to complete my album cover creation.
Simple Stories Life Documented Collection supplies used: "Hello New Year" paper, 2015 card set, chipboard pieces, clips, an enamel dot and brad were used on the camera area.
The ribbon and camera embellishment added on the cover are from Maya Road.
Thank you for stopping by today!
In future posts I will be sharing my monthly traditional layout and pocket pages completed using this collection!
